I haven't blogged in a very long time, so I need to update.
1) I graduated college May 9. It was very anti-climactic.
2) I got a job with benefits, insurance, and decent pay in the Ed. Leadership Dept.
3) I got a new apt. where I lived last year.
4) I got a beautiful kitten!!!
5) I'm beginning my Master's program in the Fall.
Okay now descriptions:
1) I didn't walk at graduation, although I kind of wanted to. My family was being dramatic, so I decided to be stubborn and not walk. I do plan on walking for my Master's, though, b/c I think I will like it more. The ceremony will be smaller, and I will feel like I earned it more. I still haven't gotten my diploma though. How long does that take?
2) I worked really hard to get this job. There I said it. I did anything and everything they asked me to do as a student worker, and then some. I even rocked the interview. But I never let myself believe for once that I "had" the job, so I think that helped me. I believe in Karma and a positive attitude. I believe that if you begin to think everything in life will be given to you easily, things will be twice as hard. I believe hard work, determination, and a positive attitude will help anyone accomplish their dreams.
3) I moved out of the Fair Family basement when I got an offer to move in with R and C. I was very thankful for that opportunity, b/c I was extremely depressed by living in a cold, dark, basement. I felt very secluded from everyone, and plus, the rents were pressuring wayyy tooo hard on A and I's relationship. So, I moved in with the girls and it was a good change. But I still had to live in one room, and once I got Bianca (my kitten) it seemed way too cramped. Also, unforeseen rent circumstances came up and I found my own place. This was fairly easy since I just contacted my previous landlord and he gave me a two bedroom pet-friendly apt. I also cut a deal with the deposit, b/c I never got mine back from the old apt. I am so much happier now that I have my own place again. I actually really enjoyed living witht the girls, but I felt like I had to stay locked in my bedroom like everyone else (mostly just C). I really wanted to bond with them, but our schedules seemed to be too different. End.
4) My kitten Bianca looks like a mini snow-leopard. And she's very fiesty. I love her so much. I never thought I was a cat person until I met Jax (C's cat). He is the sweetest cat I've ever met, so he inspired me to get Bianca. I fell in love with her the moment I met her. She was Uncle G's (A's uncle) baby kitten and she was the more curious and loving of the litter. Every evening when I come home I call for her, and she runs to me. I pick her up and she purrs and nurses on my ear. BTW she loves to nurse on my face. I need to wean her from this, but it's hard when she enjoys it so much, and it's just very sweet. It makes me feel like she chose me as her human.
5) I'm very nervous about Grad school b/c I know it will be harder that undergrad. I will actually have to study and read, which I rarely did as an undergrad. Plus, I won't have time to do my homework at work now that I'm an actual employee, so I will have to make time in the evenings and on weekends to study. But this nervous is a good one. I'm so exicted. I never thought I would miss taking classes but I do. I think I could take [interesting] classes for the rest of my life. P.S. It helps with the stress knowing that I don't have to pay for it. As an employee at the University I get 12 credit hours for free. I honestly wouldn't be getting my Master's right now without that benefit, b/c I wouldn't be able to afford it.
This post was extremely long but I had to update. Future posts will be shorter. Maybe.
